Efterladte svømmebriller opbevares i vores redskabsrum.

Læs mere om vores politk for forældre i hallen her.

Practical info before you start swimming

To ensure the best conditions for learning to swim, we recommend the following:

Swimwear & Equipment

Girls should wear swimsuits and boys should wear swim shorts.

The swimwear should fit snugly – it's better to wear swim trunks than swim shorts.

Swim shorts (with loose legs) create more resistance and make it harder to move around in the water.

We also find that many children have problems getting them to fit tightly enough so they don't slide down when pushing off from the edge.

All children are asked to bring swimming goggles. You can write their name on them with a permanent marker if you'd like.

Left-behind swimming goggles are stored in our equipment room.

The swimming pool has swimming wings and belts that can be borrowed.

Diapered Children

The swimming pool requires that your baby wears a Happy Nappy and a swim diaper when you are in the water.

Both Happy Nappy and swim diapers can be purchased at the swimming pool.

Swimming Goggles

We strongly recommend the use of swimming goggles. Not only are they practical for better underwater orientation, but they also protect the eyes from the chlorine, which can irritate the mucous membranes in the eyes after swimming.

Tie Up Long Hair

Especially girls sometimes spend a lot of time and energy brushing their hair away from their faces after jumping around in the pool or taking a swim. Sometimes it's so distracting that it takes their focus away from what they're supposed to be doing.

We recommend either wearing a swimming cap or tying up the hair with elastic bands. The female instructors have a lot of experience on how best to manage hair – so please ask if you're in doubt.

Remember to Shower - Both Before and After

Everyone who enters the water must wash beforehand – and again after any restroom visits. Fewer bacteria in the water reduce the chemicals used to clean it, providing a better swimming experience.

No Devices with Camera Functions in the Changing Rooms

We'd also like to remind you that mobile phones and other devices with photo/video functions should be kept in bags in the changing rooms.

Parents-Free Edge

As a parent, you can sit in the hall and watch the first time your child swims. If your child needs you there more often (initial period), you can discuss it with the relevant coach.

Read more about our policy for parents in the hall here.

Changing

When your child turns 7, they should bathe and change in the respective gender's changing room. Children under 6 can, with a parent, change in the opposite gender's changing room.

Take the time to teach them to manage on their own.

Ensure your child has used the restroom before the lesson.

Children needing to use the restroom during lesson time will be accompanied by a helper coach. But they'll need to bathe again after the restroom visit before returning to the lesson.

"Watch Weeks":

"Watch Weeks" are a few selected weeks where parents can come and see what their children have learned during the season.

It takes place during regular lesson hours, where parents are invited into the hall to follow the lesson.

Information about "Watch Weeks" will be provided on the website.

Illness/Absence:

We mark the children who attend. It's not necessary to report absence if you're unable to attend."
